The Baristro Chiang Mai: 3 Stylish Café Locations You Must Visit
Chiang Mai is the perfect destination not just for its rich culture and stunning scenery — it's also a paradise for café lovers.
One café brand that truly stands out is The Baristro. Founded in 2015, it has captivated coffee lovers across the city with its distinctive design and high-quality coffee.
The stores are genuinely stunning — less like cafés and more like photo studios you can sip coffee in.

The Baristro now operates 9 locations, each with its own unique concept and atmosphere. In this article, I'll introduce the 3 locations I'd most recommend from my own visits!

Top 3 The Baristro Locations
1. THE BARISTRO AT PING RIVER

Nestled along the Ping River, this branch charms visitors with its minimalist design in harmony with the natural surroundings.

Natural light fills the café counter area, where a friendly barista greets you with a warm smile. The white-based interior is softened by concrete textures and wooden furniture that add a cosy warmth.

The riverside lawn and wooden deck are ideal spots for sipping coffee while soaking in the natural surroundings. At dusk, catching the sunset reflected on the water is an experience not to miss.
Opening hours: 8:00–18:00 (open year-round)
2. THE BARISTRO ASIAN STYLE

Located in a tranquil area near Chiang Mai University, this branch features an Asian-inspired design that evokes the elegance of Kyoto.

Step inside and you're greeted by a café counter far more beautiful than you could have imagined.

The Slow Bar, inspired by Japanese aesthetics, radiates a sense of calm that takes you completely out of the everyday.

The garden — reminiscent of the famous Ryoanji rock garden in Kyoto — is the perfect place to slow down and let time drift by.

There's even a dedicated room designed for studying and working, making this branch an all-round winner. With its many Instagrammable spots, it has drawn café and photography enthusiasts ever since opening day.
Opening hours: 8:00–18:00 (open year-round)
3. THE BARISTRO AT TRAIN STATION

Located near Chiang Mai Railway Station, this branch makes a bold impression with its industrial design.

The raw concrete café space is open and airy — and undeniably cool.

Bare concrete walls and minimalist, utilitarian interiors create a sleek, understated atmosphere that's particularly popular with male visitors. The high ceilings and spacious layout also make it an excellent spot for working or reading.
Opening hours: 8:00–18:00 (open year-round)
Recommended Menu Items at The Baristro
1. American Beer (Cream Cheese + Americano)

A one-of-a-kind drink you probably can't find anywhere else! The American Beer combines an Americano with cream cheese, and the result is a perfect marriage of coffee's bitterness and the gentle sweetness of the cream cheese.
Personally, this is the drink I'd insist you try whenever you visit The Baristro.
Price: 110 THB
How to enjoy it: First, taste the cream cheese and coffee separately without stirring. Then mix it well — the cream cheese dissolves into the coffee, creating a smooth and mellow flavour that's completely different from the first sip.
2. Iced Latte

The Baristro's latte achieves a beautifully balanced blend of silky milk and rich espresso, letting you fully savour the depth of a well-crafted coffee.
Price: from 80 THB
Beyond these two, The Baristro offers a wide range of creative drinks you won't find in Japan. Try a few and discover your personal favourite!
